To support a self-determined schedule of professional development. Deadline for applications: 12 noon Thursday 9 February 2017
Devise your own schedule of professional development to boost your practice in 2017. What would make a difference for you? Whose advice or input would you value? Is there a new direction or area of practice you’d like to develop? We know that targeted funding at the right time in an artist’s career can make all the difference – so why not put together a plan to make things happen for you in 2017.
Bursaries of £500-£1,000 are available to a-n Artist members wishing to undertake a self-determined schedule of professional development in 2017. They can be used for artist-to-artist or curatorial critique, to support learning of new skills or research into a new area of practice. Contribution to childcare costs and any access needs can be included. Activity must be completed by end December 2017.
To enable members to travel internationally to develop networks, relationships and opportunities. Deadline for applications: 12 noon Thursday 9 February 2017
Where will 2017 take you? Looking for a chance to develop your networks outside the UK? Make relationships with artists, curators and organisations further afield to create opportunities for future work or collaboration? Why not expand your horizons and go places in 2017.
These bursaries of £500-1,000 are for a-n Artist members wishing to travel internationally to develop networks, relationships and opportunities. Primarily intended for international travel, proposals for travel within the UK can also be made. Funds can be used to support travel, accommodation and subsistence costs. Contribution to childcare costs and any access needs can be included. Activity must be completed by end December 2017.
All bursaries come with an obligation to report on activity, to share with the community on www.a-n.co.uk and beyond.
At a time of huge uncertainty in the world, how can artists and artists’ groups adapt to navigate turbulent cultural and political landscapes? What strategies and creative approaches might be required and how might artists reflect upon these landscapes? What thinking might be needed? What might the roles of artists be in this new climate?
For a-n’s latest bursary strand, they are offering awards of £1,500 – £3,000 for artist-led groups wishing to actively engage with any of these questions. Artists who hold a current a-n Artist membership and are active within a UK-based artist-led group can make an application. a-n are open to proposals for activities that provoke, reflect, question and consider new strategies and approaches.
All bursaries come with an obligation to report on activity, to share with the community on www.a-n.co.uk and beyond. And a-n is also planning to create a publication based on outcomes of the bursary activity, so there will also be an expectation to be open to involvement in this process.
Deadline for applications: 12 noon Thursday 2 March.
